Crafting the Vision

What is Crosspoint?  Where does Crosspoint fit in?  That is a great question I have been asking myself that exact question a lot lately.  Something I've been praying about frequently too.  Just starting new into Crosspoint this has been on my mind from the get go.  In fact in my first interview with the Crosspoint board, they asked me where does Crosspoint fit in at Wayne State College.  To be honest, at that time, I wasn't quite sure where.

The other day, I was cleaning up and putting some of the stuff back that we had used at the WSC organization and business expo and it was like I had a "Eureka!" moment.  I doubt it was eureka though.  I'd have to give the credit to the Holy Spirit.  The idea was about where does Crosspoint fit in at Wayne State College.  What would be really awesome and I believe it would compliment some of the other campus ministries at Wayne State as well would be to focus our efforts in to outreach and leadership development.

Outreach & leadership development?  Isn't that what campus ministries already sort of do.  Yep, it "sort of" is what they do.  However, this would become the driving force behind Crosspoint.  In the area of outreach, doing things where we are solely doing activities that outreach to the students and also helping other Campus Ministries with outreaches that they want to see happen at Wayne State College (cause in the end, all that matters is that students come to know Jesus as their Savior).  This would not only increase our activities we are doing on campus but would create more of an atmosphere for working together with other ministries on campus.

In the area of leadership development we would target two areas, spiritual/personal development and real-world skills development.  Basically we'd give students the tools and means to craft out their skills in various aspects.  For instance, maybe somebody has certain talents, abilities, or passions that they want to apply but have nowheres to do that.  Then we would come alongside of them, give them guidance, and let them lead the charge as Crosspoint coaches them in the different aspects of ministry and using their skills.

It is really hard to put into words of what God is putting on my heart and that is why we are continuing to craft the vision of Crosspoint.   If you have questions, hit me up (502)649-1924.

Just getting started....

It's the 1st of August and what Crosspoint has in store for this school year is just getting started.  Lately we have been busy painting, cleaning, re-decorating, and preparing the Crosspoint Campus Ministry building for the 2013-2014 batch of Wayne State College students.  It has been an exciting time and we are just praying that God will make a huge impact at Wayne State College.

As you can see in the picture to the left, I have the microphone and using this opportunity to tell people about Crosspoint.  I participated in the Egg Roulette for Crosspoint at Hennoween 2013 but unfortunately I was knocked out in the first round.  Let's just say there was egg that flew all over the place when it hit my head.  I was a little over ambitious and hopeful that it would be boiled.  Oh boy was I wrong.  Although I was knocked out of Egg Roulette, one of the finalists gave me their place for the final rounds of Egg Roulette.  This was definitely a blessing because I managed to get third place and win $100 for Crosspoint.

If you want to come up and check out the Crosspoint building you can!  We have a ton of stuff planned and a lot to do.  So that's all for now.  If you want to talk about Crosspoint give me a call at 502-649-1924.
